Systems Analyst role is responsible for analysis, design, configuration, and support of IS&T system solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity as well as support business strategies and goals. He will identify and communicate business needs and translate business requirements into technical system requirements and functional specifications. System Analyst determine if internal or external solutions exist or whether new solutions are feasible. He map process flows and must determine if these solutions impact existing work processes and systems as well as ensure proper integration, testing, and system/user documentation.
Systems Analyst must have a working knowledge of the business area that he will support. He  need a solid understanding of the client’s existing business processes, the key drivers and measures of success and the short- and long-term direction of their business and technology. In addition, a strong understanding of the customer’s overall IT architecture is also required in order to understand the issues and implications of proposed system and hardware solutions.
Systems Analyst must be innovative in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing the execution of IS&T system solutions. He require strong analytical, technical and communication skills. He must be able to build collaborative relationships and negotiate requirements across multiple groups. 
  • Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.
  • Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems.
  • Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and softwareinterfaces with the operating system. Analyze and evaluate present or proposed businessprocedures or problems to define data processing needs.
  • Prepare detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes.
  • Research and recommend hardware and software development, purchase, and use.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user accessand component configuration.
  • Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate,significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
  • Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and useraccess and security.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and peripherals to include; network cards,printers, modems, mice and add-in boards.
  • Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
  • Write and maintain system documentation.
  • Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required,and compatibility with current system.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed bythe network.
  • Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Other duties as assigned.
